Trinidad, Colorado Arts

Trinidad is a center for plein air artists. Above, a PBS crew films
Trinidad resident and artist Frank LaLumia for the segment "Plein Air,"
featured on the series Painting the American Landscape.

With its four gentle seasons, relatively low cost of living,
and outstanding historic architecture, Trinidad has attracted
many working artists and artisans. They enjoy opportunities for
plein air painting, support services such as giclée printmaking
and bronze foundries, and an active arts community.

Visual Arts

The town’s art galleries feature both local artists and traveling exhibitions. Three arts organizations sponsor events in all facets of the arts.

Galleries & Organizations

Trinidad is home to one professional theatre company—
Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre—and host to another.
Local musicians entertain at events throughout the year. Every August,
the
Triniddadio Blues Fest brings thousands to Central Park.

Performing Arts

The town’s rich past as a trading and cultural center continues
to generate exploration and interpretation by its writers.
