For a local get-around at modest cost, call 719-845-1127 for a bus to deliver you from the train station to your rental car place or to your hotel—or just to get from one place to another. Tuesday and Wednesday Highway 12 runs; bi-weekly Walsenburg runs. Provided by South Central Council of Governments in Trinidad. The Trinidad Trolley provides free tours. The trolley departs from City Hall at 135 N. Animas Street and from downtown trolley stops. You may park in the City Hall parking lot or the Safeway lot. Car Rentals: Highways Bus Service Railroads Amtrak’s Southwest Chief connects Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Trinidad, Kansas City, and Chicago. Amtrak offers complete meals; sandwiches, snacks, & drinks in the lounge car; feature movies; travelogues hospitality hour; journey through time with interpretive guides throughout the tour; Native American guide from Albuquerque to Gallup; sleeping car; dining car; sightseer lounge car; Superliner reserved coach. Air Service Passenger air service is 130 miles north of Trinidad in Colorado Springs and 210 miles north of Trinidad in Denver. To the south is Albuquerque International Airport, 220 miles from Trinidad. Current weather conditions at Perry Stokes Airport: Shipping UPS has pickup boxes at 401 W. Main, 233 E. Main, and 301 Commercial with last pick-ups at 4pm, Monday thru Friday. FedEx has pickup boxes for express packages only at 125 N. Commercial and 313 Nevada with the last pickup at 2pm, Monday thru Friday. The Mail Store at Cedar St. Printing, 123 Cedar St., handles UPS, FedEx, and U.S. mail shipments.
