Capital Improvements Showcase:

Here are just some of the projects that are the result of the 1% sales tax devoted to improving public spaces and places in our Community.

Trinidad Skate Park & Disc Golf Course
With the help of Great Outdoors Colorado and hard-working volunteers, the City of Trinidad completed its critically-acclaimed skate park in 2003.  Due to overwhelming popularity and success of the park, a nine-hole disc golf course was added nearby & an additional $100,000 of new amenities were installed at the park in 2006.

Brick Street Improvements
Cedar & Plum Streets within the Corazon De Trinidad Natl Historic District, were lifeless & full of potholes.  Several years ago, the Street Improvment Program entailed burying overhead power lines, adding street trees & benches, & returning  these two downtown streets to their former bricked glory.

Trinidad Water Works Building
Said to be the second-oldest standing structure in Trinidad, built in 1879, the Water Works building was in continual use
until several years ago by the City's Water Department.  Working with the State Historic Fund & the Colorado Department of Local Affairs,
& putting the Capital Improvement Fund to use, plans to restore this unique building is underway.
Plans entail the building to be used as the Trinidad Chambers of Commerce & museum space dedicated to our rich coal mining history.
